Cost vs. Value
Cost v. Value
Unfortunately, some people only want to buy a product that is the cheapest sacrificing quality. Sometimes that works but firearms training is not the place for poor quality. Not only could it cost a person his or her life, but it could also cost a person’s freedom or financial security. Consider the purchase of a firearm. How many of you would buy a cheap gun with poor craftsmanship and inferior parts that has trouble functioning for half the price of a gun sold by a reputable manufacture that is known for repeat reliability shot after shot?
The same goes for concealed and carry classes. All conceal and carry classes are not created equal. Some classes are taught by NRA certified instructors while others are taught by police officers. At Insight, our students get the best of both worlds. More than half of Insight’s instructors are certified law enforcement trainers, and the other half are certified NRA instructors.
Safety
The lower the class price the fewer instructors at the range. It’s only a given, and safety suffers. The lower the cost the less money to pay instructors at the range. That often translates to one instructor for every 20 students in a class that charges $65. Do you want to stand next to a person who has never shot a gun before and clearly does not know how to safely handle it? At Insight, we have one instructor per two students. Safety is our No. 1 priority followed by individual attention to help students learn the fundamental skills of shooting. After taking our class, students quickly realize an additional $34 is a small price to pay for safety and individual instruction.
Legal rights
Anyone who carries a gun must know the law inside and out. He or she must know when a gun can be used in self-defense and the ramifications that will follow even if the shooting is completely justified so students can protect themselves from a criminal and civil lawsuit standpoint. The less expensive classes typically spend 45 minutes quickly going over the law. Insight uses police officers who work with the law on a daily basis to explain the law in easy-to-understand terms with humor mixed in along the way. Instructors engage students in active discussions of “shoot/don’t shoot” scenarios to help understand complicated legal topics. Insight’s law training has been so well received there has been lawyers in classes give us a standing ovation and praise us on the presentation of material in an informative manner that helps students understand.
Service after the class
Many concealed and carry schools have come and gone since Ohio enacted concealed carry in 2004 but Insight has always been there and continues to grow. With more than 25 years in the firearms training industry, Insight has become a trusted name for firearms training. Should you have any questions after the class on any topic after the class, even several years later, feel free to call for an answer or clarification.
Experience
Many students go on to take advanced firearms training from Insight to expand on the foundation set in the concealed and carry class. Insight has a dozen instructors with more than 150 years of combined experienced. Firearms training is not just a job for Insight instructors, it’s a passion. Our instructors are constantly training themselves as well as receiving advanced training from some of the best shooters in the world.
